OUR MISSION
Friends of Hamilton County Parks foundation (FHCPI) is entrusted with the stewardship to advance the development, promotion, and preservation of public parks and green spaces for the recreational, cultural, and educational benefit of Hamilton County residents and visitors. FHCPI accomplishes this by actively seeking donations through grants and donors, while sustaining an enthusiastic corps of volunteers, and abiding by informed, visionary and creative practices.
FHCPI is a nonprofit foundation created for the sole purpose of bettering parks and recreation in Hamilton County and its communities.
WHY SUPPORT US?
Looking to the future and driven by a mission that seeks to increase the number of parks and the quality of existing parks, the FHCPI board invites individuals and businesses to engage in our vision of a community rich in parks, trails and natural areas. According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources' "Supply of Outdoor Recreation Acreage", there should be 20 acres of locally owned and operated public outdoor recreation acres per 1000 people. Hamilton County has a deficit and with development and population growing quickly, evidence indicates that greater exposure to, or contact with natural environments (such as parks and woodlands) is associated with better mental and physical health and well-being.
WeI seek solutions to growing and expanding our outdoor green space, and as a donor to the FHCP, can help ensure our parks are the best parks we all deserve and our access to green space continues to grow. FHCPI works to identify projects that require urgent attention and will meet the needs of a wide range of audiences across Hamilton county. We invite you to join us in these projects and consider your support.
